“Such a great day - the atmosphere was incredible. It was definitely a challenge, but crossing the finish line felt so rewarding. Already looking forward to doing it again next year!”

WWPD — What Would Phoebe Do?

Began as a simple idea, but one that carried so much meaning.

After Phoebe died, her husband brought together friends and family to swim the Cole Classic in her honour. It was something to hold onto, something to move forward with - all together.

Phoebe had a deep connection to Bear Cottage, so it felt only right that the money raised from that first swim went to a cause so close to her heart. It wasn’t just about the event - it was about showing up for her, and for each other.

In early February 2025, 29 intrepid swimmers took part in the Cole Classic - the world’s largest ocean swim - under the WWPD banner. All participants wore custom yellow and white swimmers, creating a powerful and visible tribute in Phoebe’s honour. The day before, 10 participants completed the 10km Dee Why to Manly Sun Run, bringing together people of all ages in support of the same cause.

Across both events, the energy, connection, and shared purpose helped build awareness and momentum around what would become the Foundation. It became a way of carrying Phoebe’s spirit forward - through action, connection, and community.

Today, we carry Phoebe’s that spirit forward in everything we do, which is the reason why we have the iconic branding WWPD - which stands for, what would Phoebe do?

What started as one swim quickly became something more.

It marked the beginning of the Phoebe Dawson Foundation and continues to shape how we show up today.

You’ll now find us at runs, swims, and community events, wearing our signature yellow and white stripes - a symbol of Phoebe’s warmth, her energy, and the light she brought into every space.

It’s not just a team. It’s a way of continuing her legacy - together.

Adventures of Phoebe

Phoebe was an extraordinary napper!  When she wasn’t asleep, she was up and on the go, bouncing off walls from place to place, person to person. Her spirit never stood still. It travelled…and still does today.

Across cities, coastlines, and quiet corners of the world, small stickers now mark the places she’s been carried to next. Each one holds a moment, a memory - a continuation of her story, shared by those who take her along for the ride.

What began in one place has stretched far beyond it, connecting people, journeys, and experiences through a simple but meaningful gesture.

Wherever a sticker is placed, Phoebe’s adventure continues.

Keep an eye out - you might spot her, locally or somewhere across the world.
